A website that actually reflects your values.
Web Design for Charities
Most charities care about inclusivity but most charity websites quietly shut people out anyway. If someone can't navigate your donation page, they don't donate. If they can't access your services, they go without. And if your site is running heavy on carbon, it's contradicting the commitments on your About page. We fix all of that. Together. With independent certification to prove it.
The numbers your trustees need to see.
Nearly half of disabled people in the UK have been put off making an online donation because of an inaccessible charity website. Research by Giant Digital estimates that UK charities are missing out on up to £65 million a year in online donations as a result. That is not a marginal issue. That is a fundraising problem with a known solution.
Your donation page is not a nice-to-have. It is your front door. Every site we build meets WCAG 2.2 AA as a minimum, independently verified.
Compliance is not optional.
What the law says
The Equality Act 2010 applies to every charity in England, Scotland and Wales. It places a legal duty on all service providers to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people, and your website is a service.
Charities that are mostly financed by public funding, or that provide services essential to the public or aimed at disabled people, also fall within the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 and must meet WCAG 2.2 AA. If that sounds like it might be you, it probably is.
Grant funders are paying attention too. The National Lottery Community Fund expects organisations to consider accessibility in digital projects, and an inaccessible website could affect future funding applications.
We go into the law and The Equality Act 2010 more in our article on our blog, ‘How does WCAG effect charities’. Read the article below:
